We have previously reviewed a free photo collage maker called Shape Collage. Shape Collage desktop version is very easy to use software with lots of features and options. If you do not want to install the desktop application, you can create photo collages using the online version of Shape Collage. Shape Collage Online is a web application that takes photos from anywhere on the web and automatically creates a photo collage in a number of different shapes, such as a rectangle, heart, cat, or a word.

You can either enter the URL of web pages with photos like Flickr or you can also enter the URL of photos and then chose the shape. You can also enter the text before creating the collage. The application is very fast and creates collages in seconds. You can either download the collage or embed it in any webpage using the code.

CompareMyDocs is a new online web service which allows users to compare, recombine, and merge documents online quickly and easily. You can compare and merge upto 6 documents using this online service. When you having multiple versions of same document which you have edited, it might be difficult to find which part is missing in the documents. With this service, you can easily spot the differences in the versions.

You need to select the documents to be compared using the upload tool. You can select .doc, .docx and .rtf formats. Once you have selected the files, clicking on the compare with actually show the differences between the versions.

The changes in the versions other than the primary one are highlighted and you can either merge or delete the differences. Once you are done with the merge, you can save the changed document back to your PC. This service is currently in beta works best on text only documents not containing tables and images. The original documents always remain unaffected and the service does not make any changes to it.

Get Pingdom Alerts via Twitter

Pingdom is the best website monitoring service available as of now and at the same time it is a paid service. Pingdom monitors website uptime each minute using its servers located all over the world. Pingdom has announced that now you can get alerts via Twitter. So in addition to email and SMS, you can also use Twitter to get alerted by Pingdom when your websites or servers go down.

You can get Twitter alerts in two ways:

Status messages (public) sent to @yourtwittername, or
Direct messages (hidden) sent to @yourtwittername

Pingdom alerts will be sent from a special Twitter user, @pingdomalert, which you’ll need to follow if you want to be able to receive direct messages (DM). To get notifications via Twitter, you need to add Twitter account as a contact.

Once you have added your Twitter account as contact, go to the settings of the website for which you want to sent alerts via Twitter and then add the notification type as Twitter.

Now you can get website downtime and uptime alert using Twitter.

Windows Live Web Messenger

Back in April 2009, Windows Live team has announced the availability of Web Messenger for Windows Live Hotmail users. This enabled users logged into Hotmail to chat with their friends. Now, Windows Live Singapore has launched a standalone Windows Live Messenger which enables users to use messenger without having to sign into email interface. Although the Web Messenger is launched for users in Singapore, you might be able to log in from other locations as well (We were able to use it from India).

Web Messenger requires the following:

An internet connection. 56 Kbps or faster is recommended.
A web browser. IE 6.0 or later, running on Windows.
Windows Live Account. If you have an existing account with Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger or Windows Live Spaces, you can use your user ID and password to log in.

The Windows Live Messenger Web does have all the basic features of Live Messenger.
