In the home page, news is categories into topics, sections and also based on most viewed, recent etc. Google captures images of the articles from the partners websites and then display them in an easy-to-read way. The stories are grouped by categories, such as Entertainment, Business, Opinion, Politics and Most Viewed. Readers can flip through stories quickly by simply pressing the left- and right-arrow keys.

If you want to view any particular page, click on that page and it loads in full page view, enabling you to share the article using email or even like it.

Having said about the main features, there are also some negative aspects, these pages are only screenshots of the partner sites and you cannot scroll or read the article completely on Fast flip and for that you have to visit the main site.

The font size you choose will be applied to the body of the ad, with the title scaled appropriately. In order to fit the ad text correctly, the actual font size will vary for each format size, font face, and user-specific settings such as browsers and operating systems. In addition, some formats sizes currently have very limited room, so the font size application will be most apparent in cases where the number of ads appearing in your ad units varies automatically in order to maximize your performance.

Apart from this the default font size will be changed from small to medium as there is performance increase with increase size as noted by the Adsense team. So in case you want to stick with current font size, you can set your desired font size as ’small’ across your account.

So what is your ad unit font size, are you sticking with small or changing it?

Once enabled in the labs settings, you can see a link available in the message if the language in the email is anything other than your default language.

The translated message will be available in the same email with an option to change to original text. If you want to translate to any other language from the default language, you will need to change your default language in general settings tab

You can add the images using the link in the compose toolbar. This opens a popup asking you to upload images from computer or a web address.

Once added, you can resize the image by dragging it from the corner of the image. Apart from this, when you select the image in the compose window, you can resize to predefined size.

You need to make sure that you have turned on rich formatting mode, or it won’t show up in the compose window. Important thing to note here is that the images sent in the mail will not be displayed to another Gmail user and they are blocked. You need to click “Display images below” link to view the images. This feature is available for Google apps users as well.

1. Google Docs List Uploader: List Uploader is a Windows freeware utility that enables you to bulk upload files to Google Docs and it supports drag and drop upload. You need to provide you Gmail ID and password to login to your account and once logged in, you can drag and drop files to upload.

This uploader when running, can also provide a right click menu option for uploading files to Google Docs. This can be enabled by checking the box against “Add DocList Uploader to right click menu”.

2. Google Docs Desktop Gadget:  This gadget works with Google Desktop installed and you can upload documents with drag and drop.

3. Google Toolbar for Firefox: Once this toolbar is installed and logged into your Google account, you can drag and drop files to the browser and the toolbar will upload the files to Google docs. The settings can be configured in the options for toolbar.

4. Web Upload: This is perhaps the most common method for uploading, directly from the web interface. You can also upload files by sending a mail to the unique ID assigned to you. This email ID can be got from here.

By default, your ads are currently set to ‘Standard Adsense font family’, which performs well across browsers and displays. If you want to change the font in one ad unit alone, then navigate the Manage Ads tab under Adsense Set up. Here, select the ad unit you want to change the font and click on Edit ad settings. Here you will be able to change the font of the particular ad unit alone.

Presently there are only 3 fonts available for customization, but there might be more font added up in the future. The font customization is a good move by Adsense for the fact that ads will now look in sync with the content. Publishers are encouraged to try this new feature.

For an even speedier experience, Pocket PC users can add the Google Mobile App to the start menu (Settings: Menus) or configure a hardware key (Settings: Buttons) to provide easy access from within any application on your phone.

Google Mobile Apps team members have claimed that search was 50% faster on the mobile apps when compared to searching using the browser.

Google Mobile App is available for all devices running Windows Mobile in the US, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. To download the mobile apps for Windows Mobile, open the browser in your phone and point it to http://m.google.com.

Once you have enabled this feature, navigate to the settings and check the box “Append your location to the signature”

Save the settings and now when you compose a mail, it will automatically detect you location using the public IP address. The location may not be very accurate, but it will closest to the location you are in.

You can disable this feature anytime from the labs or can delete the location from a specific mail.

When this feature is enabled, you can see “Create a Document” link on the right hand side of the email when it is opened.

So you don’t have to take the pain to copy text from the email to the document and then saving it. To turn on this feature, go to the Gmail Labs tab under Settings, select "Enable" next to "Create a document" and hit "Save Changes" at the bottom.

In case you want to open a blank document from Gmail, the keyboard is G followed by W, make sure that keyboard shortcuts are enabled for Gmail.
