There would be instances when you wanted to take a screenshot of your mobile phone. Display reader is a free utility for taking screen shot of Sony Ericsson phone, but it should also support Java phones. Display Reader uses USB port for connecting to phone. Display reader does not require any installation for taking screenshot and the application is very simple and easy to use.

For taking screenshot, connect the phone using the USB cable and once connected, select the port from the port settings drop down. Click the button Connect and once the phone is connected to Display Reader, it shows the display size of the phone screen. We have connected W700i and the screen size is 176 X 220.

Once connected, navigate to the screen for which you want to take the phone screenshot and make sure that the phone is not going to sleep mode while taking screenshot. Click Read button and the screen currently selected on the phone is available in the Display Reader. Once the screenshot is loaded, then you can save it on your computer.

Display Reader is a very handy utility for taking screenshots for Java phone.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 has been in rumors ever since the release date was announced to be second half of 2008. Two times it was rumored that XPERIA was delayed till 2009 and both times Sony Ericsson has dismissed the rumors. The latest rumor was that XPERIA was having problems with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Setting rumors aside X1 actually seems to be ready to hit the market, as Sony Ericsson has announced today the release of its SDK (Software Developers Kit).

The Sony Ericsson Beta SDK for Windows Mobile® 6.1 is a set of tools, plug-ins and documentation that allows you to develop and test XPERIA™ Native Panels, XPERIA Web (HTML) Panels and applications for Windows Mobile 6.1 for XPERIA X1 phone.

Developers can use the Windows Mobile SDK, free of charge, to produce a wide variety of panels to meet the consumer’s demand for a rich, individualised multimedia experience on their phone.

The Sony Ericsson Beta SDK for Windows Mobile 6.1 includes:

API References

Tutorials

Sample Code

With the release of SDK we can hope that XPERIA could be right on track for release soon.
