Alleppey is surrounded by one of the largest backwaters in India- the Vembanad Lake. Vembanad Lake covers almost above 1500 sq km and we just covered a small portion of the lake. We started our journey at 11.30 AM. The breath taking sceneries of the Venbanad Lake surrounded by lands covering coconut trees was a treat for eyes.

Alleppey has over 2100 house boats of various sizes and categories. Most of them are fully equipped with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and a hall. The bedrooms are air-conditioned. The houseboat we hired was a 2 bedroom one with well equipped kitchen and all facilities. Below are few photos of the trip.

It was a wonderful trip and we stayed in the boat in the night. The boat berthed back to shore in the morning 9.00 AM.

With this feature you can set custom time for the email sent from your inbox and also set it as read or unread. Any email you send to the past appears in the proper chronological order in your recipient’s inbox. You’ll only be able to send email back until April 1, 2004, the day we launched Gmail.

Is this a real feature in Gmail? Well if you know what is Gmail Paper, then you might have guessed what exactly is this Custom time. Yes, its another April Fool prank by Google.

Another prank by Google Australia was Gday, by which you can search content on the internet before it is created. Do check out the beta testimonial page for both these pranks to read some interesting and funny testimonials.

I came across few these interesting stats regarding blogs;

  • Blogging from came to the web in 1994 when Justin Hall created what is called the first blog ever- links.net which was a daily log of his life.
  • In 1999, Pyro labs launched Blogger (now owned by Google) as a free platform for blogging.
  • A Google search for blog yields 1460000000 results which shows the popularity of blogging.
  • There are around 400000 bloggers in India
  • It’s estimated that around $500 million is generated by top 50000 blogs.
  • Every hour 16000 blog posts are published and an average of 400000 posts a day.
