The tablet market is increasing day by day and people are now switching to tablets for keeping connected to Internet even on the move. We all know that the Apple iPad is the most selling tablet globally ever since the release. We have seen many popular tablets like Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom etc which run on Android and also tablets running WebOS and BlackBerry. But which is the most popular tablet when it comes to web usage? According to comScore report in October 2011, 95.5% of all tablet web traffic in the U.S. comes from iPad. That is a really huge number when there are lots of tablets available.
Royal Pingdom blog has created some stats based on the information from Statcounter. According to the report iPad accounts to almost 88% of the web usage worldwide and Android coming only to 10%. Further, iPad also accounts to 1% of all web usage across the globe.

There are many reports that tablets might replace desktop computer going forward, but for that we will have to wait and see. As of now tablets account only for less than 2% of the global web usage. Here is another stats for tablets vs desktops.

But these reports are not 100% true as this accounts only for web usage and not all people might use tablets for web.
iPad is undisputedly the king of tablets and it would take a long time for any other tablets to really catch up with iPad. With Windows 8 tablets coming next year, we surely have a hotter competition in the tablets.
