Metro UI is now very much part of all Microsoft products and it will also be available in new Windows 8. Metro Sidebar is a freeware portable app for Windows 7 which bring in the metro styled sidebar with some functions. The sidebar comes with options to shutdown, restart, log off etc along with current date and time. It also displays your Windows 7 version and the disk space in the drive where Windows 7 is installed.
You can also set your favorite web browser to open from the sidebar. The app currently supports Firefox, IE and Opera and this can be changed from the settings.
