Previously we had covered on free VPN accounts to browse websites which are not accessible in your location or if you want to access sites securely. iVPN is another premium VPN service which offers VPN for US, UK and other countries as well. iVPN provides two types of VPN services- OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSec protocol. If you are looking to connect from your mobile phones, then you need to go with the second option. All OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSec servers use 256 bit AES encryption. Review iVPN:
After you sign up with iVPN, the service sends you a confirmation email and also the detailed set up instructions. As mentioned previously there are two types of VPN offered-OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSec protocol. Since we tried on Windows 7, we used OpenVPN. You can download the desktop client for OpenVPN from here. Once downloaded, install the app and you need to specify the login details after the installation.
After installation, start the app and you can see a system tray icon. Initially it will show as red as it is not connected. Right click on the icon and select the network to which you want to connect the VPN to. iVPN offers France, US, UK, Netherlands as network.
When you connect to the VPN, it might prompt for the password in case you have not provided previously.
As per the FAQ, iVPN do not impose any bandwidth restrictions for any user. There are various plans available for one month, there months, 6 months and one year duration. You can get the pricing details here. Overall we found the VPN service pretty good.
