Apple iPad 2 Comes to India

Apple’s iPad which was released in US and few other countries last month is now officially available in India starting April 29th. Initially it was available in online stores by paying a higher price, but now it will be officially available. India will be featuring in the list of 12 countries where Apple will be launching the new iPad 2. Apple iPad 2 will be available in both 3G +Wi Fi and also Wi Fi versions. Now that most of the mobile carriers are 3G enabled, the 3G model should be most needed one. If you are in India, you will be able to purchase the iPad on 29th April from authorized stores.

Coming to the pricing of iPad 2 in India, here are the details;

Along with India, iPad 2 will be available in Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, UAE, Philippines, Malaysia, Israel, Korea & Macau. Availability in China will on May 6th. As of now, we dont have information on how it will be sold in India, whether it will be carrier locked or unlocked. Since India does not employ the carrier locking model, we might see only unlocked versions. BSNL already has some cool iPad plans and SIM card on sale.
