Windows has a idle mode which still performs various actions on your PC even though you are not using the PC. System Silencer is a very handy, useful and freeware tool designed to enable you to easily customize the way your computer reacts when it’s idle i.e. when you have not used your mouse and keyboard for some time. Run System Silencer and when you’re away your computer’s monitor can turn itself off, the sound will be muted and you can even choose to hide your taskbar and desktop icons.

The application is very simple to use, all you need to select the options you need to perform when the computer goes to idle mode. You can also set the idle time in minutes. This application can come quite handy on many occasions where you just moved out of your workstation and forgot to lock it or stop the playing music.
