Previously we have covered tools for creating GIF images like GIF Creator and Mov2Gif. Now if you want to extract the images in an animated GIF file, then  Animated Gif Frame Extractor should be a handy tool. This free application can extract the frames in from a GIF file and export them as a JPEG or PNG. The application interface is very simple and easy to use.

Click on the open button and browse for the GIF image, once selected, if the GIF is an animated one, it will show the number of frames available on the left hand side. You can either save the current frame or use the Save all button to get the image from all the frames.
