Mozilla has released an updated version of Fennec, the mobile Firefox browser, for Nokia Internet Tablets and Windows Mobile devices. The Nokia tablet version has reached beta version while the Window Mobile is still in alpha. The new release features a new theme that improves usability, better performance and reliability. In addition to Nokia and Windows Mobile builds, you can also download desktop builds for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

This Windows Mobile alpha release continues to focus on stability, performance, and integration with the Windows Mobile OS. This version also includes numerous fixes and and the new shiney theme.
The initial focus of Fennec development was on building a new user experience that reflects Firefox’s design principles, adding touch screen support and other interactions appropriate for mobile phones and other handheld devices, while preserving leading features like the Smart URL Bar and support for add-ons. The beta version for Nokia tablets have lots of bug fixes and improvements.
If you do not have any of these phones, you can still try out Fennec using the desktop versions available for Windows, Mac and Linux. We hope to do a review of Fennec running on Windows Mobile, so check out our Mobile Blog soon.
