Microsoft has released the Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows Vista and is available for download from Microsoft servers. You can either download the standalone installer or it is available as DVD ISO image. Microsoft is planning to push the Windows Vista SP2 via Windows Update some time later in June (expected on June 30).
If you have any beta versions of SP2 installed on Vista, they must be un-installed prior to installing this final version. Another important thing to note is that Windows Vista must be installed with SP1 in order to install SP2.
Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) supports new types of hardware and emerging hardware standards, includes all of the updates that have been delivered since SP1, and simplifies deployment, for consumers, developers, and IT professionals.
