Digsby is my favorite but still I am missing lots of applications like Webcam for Yahoo and others which I regulary use…Good Collection…Stumbled…. I have some experience in hunting for multi-protocol messengers few months back. Ik heb enige ervaring op het gebied van jacht voor multi-protocol boodschappers paar maanden terug. I use Yahoo, Gtalk, MSN and skype daily and another internal messenger Spark which also work with xmpp protocol. Ik gebruik Yahoo, GTalk, MSN en Skype dagelijkse en een andere interne boodschapper Spark die ook werken met XMPP-protocol. So I tried Pidgin, Trillion, Miranda Im and few more not in the list. Dus probeerde ik Pidgin, Trillion, Miranda IM en enkele niet in de lijst. I used each for atleast one month. Ik gebruikte elk voor ten minste een maand. Finally I switched to all native messengers as it looses the core taste of using the native ones. Tot slot wil ik overgeschakeld naar alle inheemse boodschappers als hij verliest de kern smaak van het gebruik van de moedertaal zijn. Nothing can compromise with native messengers. Niets kan compromis met inheemse boodschappers. But using a multi-protocol messenger can save upto 100mbs of memory. Maar met behulp van een multi-protocol boodschapper kunt opslaan tot 100Mbs geheugen.

You are right, we cant have all the features of native messenger like video chat. U hebt gelijk, we cant hebben alle kenmerken van inheemse boodschapper zoals video-chatten.
Nice collection man! Leuke collectie man! I've been using Digsby lately and feel that it can be a killer app. Ik gebruik Digsby laatste tijd en het gevoel dat het kan een killer app. I've heard good things and are looking forward to test Pidgin. I use Google Talk with pidgin. Ik gebruik Google Talk met pidgin. It uses the XMPP protocol. Het maakt gebruik van het XMPP-protocol. You can either set it up manually using XMPP or you can select Google Talk as the account protocol type in the past few versions. U kunt instellen handmatig met behulp van XMPP of u kunt selecteren als de Google Talk-account protocoltype in de laatste paar versies.

I just stopped using Pidgin, Version 2.5.4. Ik heb net gestopt met behulp van Pidgin, versie 2.5.4. I don't know why they claim to be a very good chat client.. Ik weet niet waarom zij aanspraak op een zeer goede chat client .. they were finally asking for user opinions for improvements they wanted to make on version 2.5.3 and now I think it's a bit too late. zij zijn tenslotte de vraag voor gebruiker adviezen voor verbeteringen ze wilden maken op versie 2.5.3 en nu vind ik het een beetje te laat. Not only is the newer version buggy.. Niet alleen is de nieuwere versie buggy .. it keeps saying I'm available online when I'm not and it doesn't tell me that I didn't even type in a password to sign on. zij houdt zeggen ik ben online beschikbaar wanneer ik niet en het doet me niet vertellen dat ik zelfs niet in een wachtwoord aan te melden op. How ridiculous. Hoe belachelijk. And to know they got rid of so many useful features is also dumb, and their responses (from the developers and such) are careless and rude. En weten ze kwijt zo veel handige functies is ook stom en hun antwoorden (van de ontwikkelaars en dergelijke) zijn onzorgvuldig en onbeleefd.

I appreciated their work in the pass and I loved GAIM but they make too many excuses. Ik gewaardeerd hun werk in de pas, en ik hield van GAIM maar ze maken te veel uitvluchten. Every new version of Pidgin is more bloated and heavy, has too many dependencies, and additional changes that are not needed. I would never use Pidgin, right now I'm desperate so I might go back to it, otherwise I can't wait to find something else. 1. 1. Digsby: though I heard they lower resource usage, I did not like the idea having to make a Digsby account just to log in and use it. Digsby: hoewel ik te horen dat ze minder gebruik van hulpbronnen, ik heb niet graag het idee hebben om een Digsby account alleen in te loggen en gebruiken. I also thought it was a cluttered interface and very bulky in size and it moves pretty slow on 2.5GB RAM. Ik vond het een rommelige interface en zeer volumineuze omvang en het beweegt vrij traag op 2,5 GB RAM.
2. 2. Pidgin: I loved it but their developers are total jerks.. Pidgin: I loved it, maar de ontwikkelaars zijn de totale jerks .. to them it's either “take it or leave it” and it really contradicts the fact that it is open source. voor hen is het een "take it or leave it" en het echt in tegenspraak met het feit dat het open source. Every new version that comes out has some sort of bug or crash and/or they make unncessary changes to the interface. Iedere nieuwe versie die uit komt is een soort van bug of crash en / of ze maken unncessary wijzigingen in de interface. Might I also say many people have reasons not to deal with a change and they said “well we like it so keep it” Zou ik ook zeggen dat veel mensen hebben geen redenen om te gaan met een verandering en ze zei: "en we willen het zo houden zij"
3. 3. Adium: I don't have Mac, but my friend uses Adium and he loves it. Adium: Ik heb geen Mac, maar mijn vriend gebruik Adium en hij houdt ervan.
4. 4. Trillian Messenger: This client goes way back when I was like in the in the 7th grade or something. Trillian Messenger: Deze klant gaat weg terug toen ik was net in de in de 7de graad of zoiets. It was very face and I stopped using it because the profiles (at least back then) were in plain text and it was really bothering me. Het was erg gezicht en ik gestopt met het gebruik ervan, omdat de profielen (althans toen) werden in platte tekst en het was echt de moeite me. Also, the paid version which I couldn't get discouraged me a lot. Ook de betaalde versie die ik kon niet ontmoedigd me veel.
5. 5. MirandaIM: I liked it, honestly, it's small but it requires plugins for everything. MirandaIM: Ik vond het, eerlijk gezegd, het is klein, maar het vereist plugins voor alles. I didn't like the IM windows, and I didn't like the fact that it does not show online times of your buddies when you hover their screen name nor does it view profiles inside a window (it opens up a window in your browser) there MAY be plugins for this but I searched by keyboard and received results that had nothing to do with it. Ik heb niet zoals de IM-ramen, en ik heb niet zoals het feit dat het niet tonen online tijden van je vrienden wanneer je scherm zweven hun naam evenmin bekeken profielen in een venster (Dit opent een venster in uw browser ) kan er plugins voor, maar ik zocht met toetsenbord en ontvangen resultaten die had er niets mee te maken. I didn't have time to look through all of them. Ik heb geen tijd om te kijken door middel van hen allen.
6. 6. Instantbird is ok, I just thought it was a TOO plain for my taste. Instantbird is ok, ik vond het een te gewoon voor mijn smaak.

Digsby is great, and is also supported on Linux and MacOS (probably wasn't though when this article was written). Digsby is groot, en wordt ook ondersteund op Linux en MacOS (waarschijnlijk niet al toen dit artikel werd geschreven).
