Windows 7 Beta which was released in Jan 2009 was expected to be in RC stage by the end of April. Neowin now reports that the public Release Candidate (RC) of Windows 7 will be only available in last week of May 2009. Earlier the RC of Windows 7 was scheduled for April 10th 2009. Meanwhile a new build from the Release Candidate branch, namely 7061, has been released to the testers.

Build 7061 was complied on March 11th 2009, but there is no official word on this build.  Meanwhile an internal RC-escrow builds of Windows 7 will be delivered to selected testers on last week of April.

An Escrow Build is a build where development halts and developers & beta testers start testing the product for any show-stopper bugs.

Windows 7 Build 7057 was leaked last week and had lots of UI changes when compared to the beta version.
