Search Files and Folder with SearchMyFiles

The default search in Windows has very less options for searching, but SearchMyFiles is a free alternative to the standard “Search For Files And Folders” module of Windows. SearchMyFiles will allow users to easily search files on their computer by specifying file attributes, by wildcard, by last modified, created, last accessed time, by the file size and by file content. SearchMyFiles gives you more accurate search than the Windows search.

SearchMyFiles does not require any installation and you can use it from a USB flash drive without leaving traces in the Registry of the scanned computer. Apart from selecting drives for searching, you can also exclude folders in the search list.

In the search result, you can open the containing folder directly by selecting the file and clicking on the folder icon from the menu. You can also generate a HTML report of the search.

SearchMyFiles is a good option for searching files when compared to Windows default search.
