Microsoft will be releasing five test updates to Windows 7 Beta (Build 7000) computers on February 24th 2009. These updates are being sent in order to verify the ability to deliver and manage the updating of Windows 7 in certain scenarios in the future. These updates will be clearly described as a test update in Windows Update, and they will not install automatically.

The updates will be offered interactively and this means users will be notified of available updates, but they won’t be installed automatically. Users will need to go to the Windows Update control panel, select the updates, and manually start installation.
These updates will not deliver any new features or fixes, but will simply replace system files with the same version of the file currently on the system.
The updates will be offered until the end of the Windows 7 Beta and only to Windows 7 Beta computers. If they are installed then Windows Update will remove the installation files 10 days after install has been completed.
In any case you don’t want to participate in this, you can select to hide the updates in the update center.

Let’s hope the new OS is better than Vista or MSFT will surely go down the drain. I’ll wait till the new OS is officially launched in the market. Thanx a lot for the update. Nice blog overall. Keep up the good work.
