Microsoft My Phone service which can sync your Windows Mobile devices with the Web, was launched at the WMC 2009. My Phone service allows you to back up data from your Windows Mobile phone to the password protected website. Microsoft My Phone syncs information on your mobile phone to a storage space on a web site hosted by Microsoft. In any case you are shifting to new handset or you lost your handset, you will be able to retrieve back all your contacts and other information.

My Phone is currently in beta and you can sign up using your Live ID. Once you sign in, you need to download the Sync application to your Windows Mobile.

You need to log into the application using the Live ID and then Synchronize the data types you have selected. Currently you can back up contacts, calendar, tasks, messages, photos, videos etc. Once the Sync is complete, you can now log into the web application and see all the data backed up from mobile.

My Phone Web

The available storage space for all your documents and data is 200 MB. Microsoft might have some paid plans when this service is out of beta.

Microsoft My Phone enables you to view and manage phone information by using a web browser. In your web account, you can add, edit, and delete contacts and calendar appointments, and the changes will appear on your phone the next time that you sync.

The sync settings can be scheduled and it can be manual or automatic.

With My Phone, it is easy to view photos on your computer that were taken with your camera phone. From your web account, you can save photos to your computer or can email them to family and friends.

Microsoft My Phone is currently available for all phones running on Windows Mobile 6+.
