Apart from showcasing the new Idou at WMC, Sony Ericsson has also announced W995 Walkman phone. The W995 Walkman phone is an all-round entertainment phone launched under the Entertainment Unlimited series. W995 is a multimedia powerhouse phone equipped with tons of features. Unlike other Walkman phones, where camera is not given much importance, W995 has a 8 MP camera with up to 16x digital zoom and auto focus and photo flash-equipped.

The camera software enables the use of an image and video stabilizer, face detection, picture and video blogging. W995 features a bright and clear scratch-resistant 2.6-inch TFT display, capable of 262,144 colors and the resolution being QVGA – 240 x 320 pixels. The phone measures 97 x 49 x 15 millimeters and weighs 113 grams.
On the connectivity front W995 comes with 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Google Maps, DLNA certification and is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS/HSPA 900/2100 handset.

In the entertainment section, W995 comes with Walkman media player, Clear Stereo and Clear Bass audio enhancement technologies, Shake Control to switch songs and control the volume and SensMe, which allows you to pick tracks according to their “mood coordinates”. It also comes with Bluetooth with A2DP and 3.5mm headset jack and stereo speakers. An accelerometer is also included in the phone, which enables menu and browser rotation, in addition to motion gaming and the use of the WalkMate application.

The W995 Walkman phone looks like a complete package with great multimedia experience. The phone will ship during Q2 this year in the colors Cosmic Silver, Energetic Red, and Progressive Black.
