Microsoft Previews Windows Mobile 6.5

Microsoft has previewed the upcoming mobile OS, Windows Mobile 6.5 at the World Mobile Congress. Windows Mobile 6.5 brings lots of changes including the interface and handful of enhancements including an application store called Windows Marketplace for mobile and a backup and restore service called My Phone. Windows Mobile 6.5 will be available only in fourth quarter of 2009. The interface of new Windows Mobile is much more finger friendly with honeycombed structure which can be rearranged easily.

The Internet Explorer also has a change which features a sliding scale to help zoom in/out of pages and also includes new tools for better page navigation and a breadcrumb features that shows you where you are on a Web page. The browser also will supports Flash Lite.

Windows Mobile 6.5 will not be available as a upgrade for existing customers using 6.1 version, this was confirmed by Microsoft.
