Nokia has officially announced its touch screen handset (which was popularly called as “Tube”) 5800 Xpress Music. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be the first device running the 5th Edition of Nokia’s Series 60 OS and its a music centered handset. Nokia 5800 supports finger touch as well as stylus. 5800 comes equipped with an impressive 3.2-inch 640 x 360 resistive touchscreen to go along with its 3.2-megapixel autofocus cam, Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, GPS, WiFi, 3.5mm jack, and a microSD slot with support for 16GB cards.

- 3.2-inches screen and has a 16:9 aspect ratio
- 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash
- Virtual QWERTY keyboard, a pen stylus, or plectrum
- GPS, as well as Bluetooth, 3G, and Wi-Fi
- Graphic equalizer, 8GB memory, support for all main digital music formats, and a 3.5mm jack.
- Built-in surround sound stereo speakers
- New media bar interface, always accessible via a touch-sensitive button above the display
- Proximity sensor to save battery life and avoid inadvertent touches
- 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm, 109 g
- Available in black, red and blue
Nokia 580 Xpress music is priced at $385 (€279) and should be available in this quarter. A high priced version which includes Nokia’s “Comes With Music” feature will be available early next year. Whether Nokia 5800 could be an iPhone killer only time can tell, but it has got all the features to become one.
Probably it’s not Nokia’s first touchscreen phone, first one was Nokia 7710.
@Altaf – This might be the first one with Touchscreen in the series of S60 mobiles. S60 series has many smart phones but none has a touchscreen.

Hello why is Nokia Expression 5800 so that expensive, why can the management make it possible to reduce the Price in Nigeria. its over 120,000. which is unenticle.
And also do some little research and study of how much its is been sold hear in my country. plz the prices are very expensive and i love the phone. i need to get before my birthday July 2nd but i couldnt. why?

I bought it 2 weeks back……..only drawback that i noticed is………audio quality………its good…but when has invested 19k , the expection was more. Touchscreen is absolutely fine……..I feel i have something better than iphone.
Bottom line:- Go for it, a must buy gadget better than iphone at half its price.
guys,i have this amazing phone.it has everything you need in a “NEW GEN”"phone.
it has a music player,FM radio,real player like a dvd player,expands and supports 16GB of micro sd,which i have one, 3.2 megapixel cam with led flash,internet connection,surround sound speakers. to wrap it up, ITS a HELLA great phone.it’s true, IT’S THE I-PHONE KILLER.

better phone than iphone 3G due to its greeness. Unlocked and no contracts that fools. i just hope the price will be 5,000 pesos next year – 2010. If you dont get it fast you’ll miss half of your life, believe me. simply, the perfect one.
