An old build of upcoming version of Windows Live Messenger 9.0 was leaked on the web. Windows Live Messenger 9 (2009) is still in development stage and Live side blog has initially posted screen shots of the new messenger. This build which was leaked on the web had a version number 14.0.3921.0717, had surprised many as the new build was supposed to be version 9. Live Side has now confirmed that it was an old M1 build of messenger.

This early build was leaked on a forum site JCXP. There are lots of improvements expected in the new version of Windows Live Messenger 9.0. Apart from the UI changes, there are features like photo sharing application and a new chat window. Another feature is the new “Group” feature, which allows you to create a never ending group conversation which essentially re-invites the same contacts every time the “group” is initiated, unless a contact decides to opt-out.

You will be able to use this new version, but it might have bugs as its an early build before the beta version.

    Thats a totally wrong notion that Windows Live Messenger is not used by any. Check any Keyword suggestion tool Windows live messenger and you will find the daily volume of users searching for it.

    Ah, 40% of business contacts prefer to use Windows Live Messengers and the rest use Skype. Just a personal experience. I have never seen anyone asking for Yahoo for business use. Nowadays Gtalk is catching up in few countries. Mastly US clients use Live messenger and UK clients use Skype.

    You are right, WLM occupies almost 60% of IM share and Skype is another one mostly used. People have the wrong notion that Gtalk is the most popular one, its popular, but just among techies.

    Yes Gtalk is used only for friends network in most places. :)
