Airtel has announced that it will be launching the 3G iPhone in India on August 22. 3G iPhone has all the revolutionary features of iPhone plus 3G networking that is twice as fast, built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services. It also features support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Another good thing about iPhone is the support for 100s of third party applications.
Airtel along with Vodafone had bagged the rights to sell iPhone in India. Vodafone has also announced that it will be launching 3G iPhone shortly. Customers will be able to purchase iPhone 3G at Airtel Relationship Centers. Details of pricing was not announced by neither Airtel or Vodafone. You can book your iPhone with Airtel here.

Airtel is saying 3G iPhone, but Airtel had also confirmed that they wont be giving any subsidy like in US to keep the price low.
life is so funny.. there was a point of time when i couldn’t wait to lay my hands on an iPhone.. i did everything possible to buy one.. and surprisingly, never got to do that.. n now that i’ve lost interest in an iPhone (primarily because of the difficulties in messaging), here it is, right at my doorstep

so finally it will be available India and have you noticed that airtel and vodafone are quite quiet on the pricing details of iphone…they should have revealed the info by now.
