Microsoft has released a Creative Commons Add-in for Microsoft Office 2007 which enables you to embed Creative Commons licenses directly into Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents. With a Creative Commons license, authors can express their intentions regarding how their works may be used by others.

Microsoft Office

The add-in downloads the Creative Commons license you designate from the Creative Commons Web site and inserts it directly into your creative work. This add-in adds a new Creative Commons tab to the Microsoft Office 2007 ribbon and needs Internet connectivity to connect to Creative Commons website.

System Requirements

  • Windows Server 2003; Windows Vista; Windows XP
  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5

In case you are using Microsoft Office 2003 or Office XP, you can download the add-in from here.
