How to Create your own Orkut Theme
ADVERTISEMENTSOrkut has officially added support to theme recently, but there are only a few themes to chose from and also these themes are available only for users from India. If you are using Firefox and Greasemonkey scripts, then you can create your own theme in seconds. Here is how to create Orkut Themes.
1. Navigate to this site.
2. Enter the url of a valid image, make sure that you select a good picture as your background. Also check that it has enough width, otherwise the image get repeated. Click Submit once you have entered the url.
3. Next step you get a link “Install Theme”. Firefox shows a popup to confirm the installation of the script.
Make sure that Greasemonkey script is enabled on your browser. In case you are using Firefox 3, get the Greasemonkey from here.
4. Open Orkut and you can see the theme in action.
For better result I suggest you to design you background image.

I allways wanted to make my own orkut theme but thought it was impossible but thanks for sharring .Now i’ll make my own theme lol :D.

I signed up for google and orkut when i was in India.
Now that im in the philippines, i cant seem to find the option to change themes.
Any work arounds ? Where exactly is the option to change the theme ?

Hmm, i still didn’t get Orkut themes, may be becoz i am not accesing from India. I guess only you will be able to see these themes, your visitors won’t be able to see :), which is not very interesting

It comes in the top navigational bar and I think it is enabled only for orkut.co.in logins.

Exactly, only if you are using orkut.co.in, thats when using from India, you can change theme.

This tool is designed by “Mr. Nobody”.
He is a celebrity on Orkut !!
These couldnot be called “Themes” as only we could see the theme on our profiles and no one else could see this.
In that way, this is pretty much useless.
But, this tool is awesome. I’ve used that many times.

How would that help? Only the person making it would be able to see the new theme, that too only in Firefox, and only in the same computer where the script is stored! My visitors will still see the boring classic orkut theme!
I guess we just have to wait until Google listens to our prayers!
