The much awaited version of WordPress, 25. has been released and available for public download. Most of us might have tried the RC which was released last week. WordPress 2.5 has lot of features and improvements over the last version. The prominent feature is the improved dashboard with a new theme.
The improvements in 2.5 are numerous, and almost entirely a result of your feedback: multi-file uploading, one-click plugin upgrades, built-in galleries, customizable dashboard, salted passwords and cookie encryption, media library, a WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code, concurrent post editing protection, full-screen writing, and search that covers posts and pages.
Few notable features are;
- New dashboard, which is cleaner, faster and less cluttered.
- Multiple file upload with progress bar.
- Better tag management
- Automatic upgrade of plugins.
- In built galleries for photos.
NB: When upgrading to new version, its recommended to take a backup of your blog and database. Not all plugins will be compatible with the new version.
