Web Messengers have now become more popular as they do no need any installation and easy to use as well. Meebo is one the most popular online instant messenger as it supports almost all IM services. Soashable is a similar service which offers online instant messaging. The difference with Meebo and Soashable is that the later one is open source, that means you can edit the code and make changes to suit your website.

Currently Soashable supports only MSN, AIM and Yahoo and also has less features compared to Meebo and other services. Soashable also does not support file transfers and chat rooms.

I tried out Soashable and it definitely looks promising especially when you can edit their code to suit your purpose.
