Download Wordpress 2.5 RC1
ADVERTISEMENTSA release candidate of the latest version of Wordpress (2.5), which is slated to arrive in a few days from now, is available for download at the Wordpress blog. The latest version has a customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times. The new Wordpress dashboard has the look and feel of the demo wordpress site which was made available few days back. There was lot of discusion and dislike for this new dasboard.

There has been lot of changes in the layout and its mentioned that primary function like managing posts, comments etc have been separated from secondary tasks. The final version should be soon available once the feedback from RC is available from testers. You can download and try the latest features of Wordpress 2.5

@Yunus,
There are lots of changes to the Admin panel, I’m planning to test it on another domain.

I tired WP2.5 RC1 on a local XAMPP server setup, and the admin panel does not look good as compared to all the hype.
But Fluency theme is excellent, and I switched to it immediately.

I will wait until the dust settles down and updated plugins are available. As it look they do have worked a lot to optimize different aspects in Wordpress 2.5.

First of all, congrats to you on your blog.
It’s awesome with its cool design.
Me too is very passionate about blogging, internet and technology.
I am an acquaintance of Sumesh too..
I recently started by blog.
About the article:
I tried the WP 2.5 RC1 on my Home WAMPServer. The Admin area, as you said, is made minimalistic and some sections which were Main Sections are now SubSections.
Another concern is the plugins. It’s what causes the delay in the upgrading process. Many of them are incompatible.
But, no doubt, it’s gonna win. After all, it’s Wordpress.
