Safari 3.1 Available for Download
ADVERTISEMENTSApple has released the latest version 3.1 of its Safari browser. The new version (3.1) boasts of better performance than its predecessor. Apple has compared the performance of Safari with other popular browsers like Firefox, IE and Opera and posted the results for HTML and JavaScript performance. Apple boasts that Safari scores over the others in both tests.
On the features side, there is no notable addition to the existing ones in 3.0.4. One important thing to note is that there is not Firefox 3 in these comparison (still in beta), but once its released, it could most probably overtake Safari on the performance side.

Fonts appear a little odd in Safari 3.1 (infact, it was the same with 3.0.8). Is it just me? or everyone else notice the same thing?

I tried Safari a few months ago. At that time it contained a lot of bugs. THis version looks a lot better.

Safari for Windows sucks just like iTunes for Windows. I am better of using Firefox 3 Beta.

Nirmal: Anyways, I’m better off with Firefox. Just can wait until all my favorite add-ons become compatible with Firefox 3 Beta 4.
BTW, Nirmal, do you still live in Mangalore? (a little off topic, please pardon me)
Manas: iTunes doesn’t suck, if have an iPod. But yeah, using it just as a media player doesn’t make any sense. I use it all the time to sync my iPod classic.
