4 Ways to Access Gmail on your mobile phone

One of the best features of Gmail is the availability of POP3 and IMAP access. So your Gmail account can be accessed using any other email client like Outlook or Thunderbird. Gmail can be accessed on your mobile phone as well on the move. There are four ways on your mobile phone.

1. Navigate to Gmail website: Just like you access Gmail on your PC, navigate to Gmail website through your cell phone browser, login and chek mails. But some mobile phones do not support standard websites, in that case you may need to access it through other means.

2. Download the mobile application: Gmail provides an application for Java compatible phones which promises better speed and performance. To download the application to your mobile, go to http://gmail.com/app and download the applilcation to your cell phone

3. Wap Compatible site: Gmail offers a Wap site for accessing mails for WAP enable cell phones. Navigate to http://www.m.gmail.com and check your mails.

4. Cellphone’s Email: If neither of these work, you can even try to configure your Gmail using the cell phone carrier’s email system using POP3 or IMAP access.

    First one would be the obvious choice, but some mobiles may not support that, even the apps ifs pretty good one.

  3. I generally prefer the first one as the gmail application is not compatible with my handset.

    Right, the apps also is not supported on many handsets.

  5. Nirmal, it is good but I think it will be more effective for people whose work relates to net more 24X7.

  6. I use the first two methods - app for regular mail, and direct access for Google Apps mail. I am on N73, so no problems on browser. In fact, the mobile browser renders my site design better than IE6 :D
