Yahoo! oneConnect: Emails, IM, SMS and Social Networks at one place
Yahoo! has unveiled a plan for reinventing mobile communications by launching its upcoming Yahoo! oneConnect service. OneConnect is a mobile web service that will let you manage e-mail, IM, text messaging (SMS), and social networks all in one place. That means you just need to deal with a single contact list. You can send a message to your friends in vareity of formats. You can also view your friends updates from other social networks.
Yahoo! oneConnect intends to integrate all the ways you communicate into a unique, mobile experience. OneConnect will be the first mobile product with an open architecture that aggregates communications tools - email, instant messaging (IM), text messaging (SMS) and social networks - for a new level of convenience in mobile communications. OneConnect also uses location-sensing technology to let you know when you’re physically close to other Yahoo! oneConnect users on your contact list.
OneConnect was unveiled in the World Mobile Congress, but will be available only in Q2 2008.
