Nokia E90 Communicator Review

Almost a decade after the first communicator was launched, comes the new E90 which is almost half the size of the initial communicators and packed with tons of features for the top end smartphone. The new E90 features HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, 3.2MP camera, 800X352 pixel LCD screen and a full fledged QWERTY keyboard.

The previous communicator were of Symbian series 80 interface while the E90 runs on series 60 platform enabling support for applications from third party.

One of the major inclusions in E90 is the 3.2MP camera, which captures pretty decent pictures as its a phone for business needs more than entertainment. E90 also has FM tuner. The internal memory is at 128MB and supports 2GB of external memory. E90 also comes equipped with POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP mails.

The QWERTY keypad is another best feature of this phone. The keypad is a breeze to use and navigate and also has numeric keys on the front with 2in display. In dim light conditions, a button with bulb icon is present that lights up the keypad.

E90 comes pre-installed with word, presentation and a spreadsheet application called Quick office.

Other features include;

  • 330Mhz T1 OMAP processor
  • WLAN, WiFi, GPS
  • HSDPA, 3G,
  • Bluetooth, Infrared
  • Standby time: 330hrs, Talktime:5 hrs

Given the features, its definitely a great smartphone to have, but coming to the price, E90 is priced at Rs34000/- and you can clearly see that its not a phone for everyone. If you do not like to carry a laptop whenever you travel, then E90 is the best option.

  1. Being a nokia fan , it will be very unusual but I really didnt like this phone. First the keypad is pretty hard and doesnt give you any typing pleasure. Screen doest stand at a proper angle and gets locked at 90 and 180 degree. Thirdly seems like it has batter issues which I posted in my blog here .

    But still I drool over it inner screen resolution, features and the capability of a multimedia computer. Nokia E90 created a big where the first phone was sold was $5000 . :D ..

  2. Hai Nirmal very thanks for your review ! I am just looking to buy this phone. But i think i must have to give a try before going to buy this after seeing the points of Kanak Bhandari.

    I think iPhone also will be better than this but i heared that Unlocked versions of iPhones available in INDIA lacks some features. So could you review a iPhone too for me ??

  3. i love it
