Tata Motors unveiled their latest car, the 1 lakh car named as Nano at the auto expo. Yesterday was the biggest day in Indian automobile industry as the one Lakh car came into reality.

Nano features a 624 cc engine, which will give a mileage of 20 kilometers per liter. As per the safety norms, it has passed the full frontal crash test, the offset and side-crash test to meet the international safety norms. The legroom is expected to be 21 per cent more than Maruti 800. The car meets the Bharat 3 (Euro 4) emission standards.

Nano is 3.1 metre long, 1.5 metre wide and 1.6 metre high, half a ton car is loaded with 33 horse power cylinder petrol engine with the usual feature four doors, a four-gear manual transmission, seat belts, locking and a steering wheel.

The car that will come in two variants – AC and non-AC, will come at a dealer price of Rs one lakh plus VAT and transport charges.

  1. This car looks modified version of two seater smart car. I think I need to see this car in reality coz the tyres looks the size of a scooter tyres. I would like to see the response of the people in buying this small car. I hope it can go above 100km per hr. ;)

    We cannot blame Tata if there is any congestion because of this car, its up to Govt to take necessary steps to avoid traffic blocks.

    One lakh Nano provide best value for money spend…i have also seen it in autoexpo its really a product to watch out for.
