Print Anything from Anywhere using Zink

Whenever we take a photo using digital camera or a mobile phone, we need not connect these devices to a normal printers anymore to print the photos, the new generation technology is here-Zink (Zero Ink). Zink has been working on a making a new photo paper which has a crystal substrate sandwiched between its layers so that it colorizes as it passes through a slim printer.

The size of these printers are such that they even fit into the pocket. These printers can be easily be connected to cameras, mobile phones and laptops.

ZINK™ stands for Zero Ink – a new way to print and experience full color digital images without the need for ink cartridges or ribbons. The ZINK™ Technology encompasses both the ZINK™ Paper and the intelligence embedded in every ZINK™ Enabled device. Over 100 patents and patents pending were generated in the development of this breakthrough technology.

Zink will partner with a leading camera vendor to produce a portable pocket size digital camera with built in printer which can produce 2X3 inch photos. These products could be available in 2008.

    hey post nirmal, but i wonder if its inkless, then what else could print on the paper. I am waiting for this device to come into reality. Currently some cameras are available which print instantly but very cumbersome to carry. this technology advancement will surely help. :)

    Ah, soon printers will also be integrated into mobile phones… I am surprised where the world will be after 10 yrs.

    Portable TV, Audio player, Video player, Camera, Internet browsing, ~PC, Game station, GPS tracking, Paging, after all Phone calls and now printers …

    hmmm… I am speaking about things we started doing with mobile phones.

    I think to market the product the price of the printer would be kept low but in turn the paper would be expensive.
