New House Constructed
ADVERTISEMENTSLast Saturday (20th October 2007) was the inauguration of our new house in Kochi. I had mentioned about the new house and its construction long time back in this blog. The house is located in Maradu, Kochi City, Kerala. The construction of the house was started in mid February and completed last week.
Some details on the house;
- Total Area: 2650 sq ft.
- Bedrooms: 3 nos (all attached bathrooms)
- One Drawing room
- One Kitchen
- Dining room
- Upper and lower living room
- Closed terrace on the first floor
- Balconies for 2 bedrooms
- Total Time for construction-8 months
- Architecture- Kerala Style
- Plan and design- by Myself
Here are few snaps of the new house.
The architecture I followed was Kerala Style one and the design and plan was done by me. This is actually my third house plan. We will be shifting to new house this week once the house is fully completed, some minor works are still pending.

that is one lovely house nirmal..
kind of reminds me of my own in Palakkad.. though its nowhere in the same league

That’s good design, that exposes your Civil Engineering skills. What software did you use for modelling? I am asking this because I am a Mechanical Engineer.

My house in Chennai has some red tiles that mimic a little of that too.

Didnt know that you were from Kerala. Maradu is not towards Thevekkal side, its towards the Alleppey side on the highway.

Actually I have done course in Autocad and 3D Max, but didnt get time to model it, so used only Autocad for drawing purpose.
