Orkut to Get a New Look- True Blue Simplicity
Orkut’s official blog reports a new look for Orkut. The new look will be available to groups of users at a time over the next week. The old color has been retained and the major change is only the rounded corners and new icons.
Orkut is currently one of the biggest social networks and it was recently voted MTV Youth Icon of India.
So what do you think about the new design? I feel its just an average redesign and still no features to change themes.

The changes are purely cosmetic. This was expected since orkut status was recently changed by google by adding it to their official products/lab page. Also a top level official whose name escapes me at the moment was moved to the development.
But what bothers me is the userbase in India. There are totally unfound rumours that this SNS is going to be banned soon and stuff like that. And considering the ban in force in the gulf region, orkut can take a bad hit since a majority are Indians and Brazilians. . .

the new looks really good … I wish google take some necessary steps to keep orkut beautiful. Since orkut got blocked here at UAE, this has become a major concern.

The new look is freaking awesome! I got my Orkut revamped days back and really loving it!

It is better than the previous one atleast . I think we should be allowed to change the look and feel of our profile .
