Nirmal that was a nice and informative post. Most of the people (Thats right even people like me) did not know much about Google Apps.

Until Arpit Jacob told me that he is using his custom email on GTalk because of Google Apps, I had no idea what Google apps actually were.

This post shall help many of those like me out there.

That’s a great post. I would suggest that you do a comparison between the windows live and Google apps side by side so that people can decide which one would suit their requirement.

Wow! I have been using Google Apps from when it was started and really loved it. I use it almost for each and every domain name I have!

It is really nice and another BIG thing - If you loose your server or change your host, you will not loose any of the mails which you would have lost when have been using your host’s mail service!

But another thing I would like to add is if your host provide RoundCube webmail, never leave it goto Google Apps or Live Domains. RoundCube is simply rocking - a must checkout stuff!

@Nirmal One thing which I want to know is can we change logo of GMAIL in free version of google apps. I did not find this feature.

Good post.. This was the first thing I did when I got my own domain.. Configure google apps.. And it’s great..

Nirmal, I have been using GApps for almost eight months now. Few things from my side:
- The 99.9 % uptime is for paid versions, probably.
-Wordpress users can integrate the email with their hosted blogs(i.e, not on abc.wordpress.com).Wordpress helps you do that.
- At this point, you cannot intergate it with Blogger till you create a sub-domain and run your blog on that.
-Email list management is horrible. If you have to create a Distribution List, you cannot do it one shot. This is quite a pain.
-On the whole, it is quite decent. Even Abdul Kalam uses it now(not joking, serious).

Agreed on the points! That why I have made a wise choose of using Google Apps for my domain email

Many of our clients are using Google Apps for email, that makes them feel more secured.
