Windows Live Folders Available
Windows Live Folders which was launched recently was available only in selected regions previously. Microsoft is expanding the beta for Windows Live Folders. I was able to access Live folders today morning. This is available only for a limited time as they are not ready to expand to additional markets.

The folders are available in three categories- Personal Folders, Shared Folders and Public Folders. The size of folders is 500MB at present. This may be small when compared to other services, but hopefully Microsoft will increase it as soon as it comes out of beta.

If you are Windows Live products fan like me, then you should be definitely trying out the live folders. Click here to sign up for Live Folders.

Kuanhoong,
500MB is very small, hopefully they will increase it in future.

@Sivaranjan,
Welcome.
@Harris,
Its worth trying out. Only disappointment is its not compatible with Opera and only 500 MB storage space.

Definately a good thing, specially for those who uses different PC’s in office, home and on tour and want to share files.

@ Ashok, I will use a pen drive then!
I am a fan of yahoo, not msn, but I have to say that msn spam control is better than yahoo.

@Anand,
Carrying a pen drive is a good option, but I still feel that online storage is a better option. Spam control is definitely better in MSN, BTW have you tried the Live products?

I would suggest going for Amazon S3 as it unlimited and dirt cheap. With JungleDisk to backup, there is no comparison.

They have to change the 500MB space, that is for sure!!
Nice blog you have Nirmal!!

@Vinod,
I never used Amazon S3, will try it out. Thanks for letting me know.
@Nomar,
Glad to see you here. You are right, 500MB is one drawback.

You never know if they have the same security level as Google!
Aug 3rd, 2007 at 8:02 am
@ grace : Yes, we don’t know about the security, we can’t put in some real important data.
But the sharing part is nice, and the biggest drawback is the space
, which i think we all feel the same.

THanks For the Post

@Grace,
Security level is definitely a concern, but then its the same for all the online storage and I personally feel Microsoft will make sure that its perfect.
@Vaibhav,
Once it comes out of beta, we should have good stuff and hopefully larger space also.

Microsoft is going great. Although space is less, just 500MBs but see, your files are on one of the most safest and most powerful uptime servers on the internet!
Long Live Microsoft [ Not so long
] !

@Rishi,
Windows Live folders will get lot of users even though it has less storage space, but because of the fact that its a Microsoft product.
