How to Back-Up Bookmarks in Firefox Comment Back-Up favoris dans Firefox

There are chances that Firefox may crash because of a new add-on installation, theme installation or any other reasons. Il ya des chances que Firefox mai car crash d'un nouvel add-on installation, installation de thème ou de tout autres raisons. It is always good to have a back up of data especially the bookmarks in Firefox. Il est toujours bon d'avoir une sauvegarde de données en particulier les favoris dans Firefox. Taking a back up of bookmarks is pretty simple process and basically there are two methods to back up your Firefox bookmarks; Prenant une sauvegarde de signets est assez simple et il ya essentiellement deux méthodes pour sauvegarder vos signets Firefox;
Method-1 : -Méthode 1:
Go to Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks in the main menu. Aller à la Favoris -> Organisez les signets dans le menu principal.
This will open up the Bookmarks Manager window. Cela ouvrira la fenêtre Gestionnaire de signets. In this window you can see all the bookmarks saved. Dans cette fenêtre, vous pouvez voir tous les signets sauvegardés. Go to File -> Export and save the file in the preferred location. Allez à Fichier -> Exporter et enregistrez le fichier dans l'emplacement souhaité. The file will contain all your bookmarks and will be an .html file. Le fichier contiendra toutes vos signets et sera un. Fichier html. Whenever you install Firefox in another PC or re-install in your PC, you can import all the bookmarks through File -> Import and select the option From File in the Bookmarks Manager. Lorsque vous installez Firefox dans un autre PC ou ré-installer dans votre PC, vous pouvez importer tous les signets par le biais de Fichier -> Importer et sélectionnez l'option À partir du fichier dans le Gestionnaire de signets.
Method-2: -Méthode 2:
Second method is directly taking a back up of the bookmarks.html file from the profile folder of the Firefox application. Deuxième méthode est de prendre directement une sauvegarde du fichier bookmarks.html du dossier de profil de l'application Firefox. To do this navigate to this folder- Pour ce faire naviguer dans ce dossier -
C:\Documents and Settings\ <your profile name> \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ati9z0wb.default C: \ Documents and Settings \ <votre nom profil \ Application Data \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ ati9z0wb.default
In this folder you can find a HTML file by name bookmarks.html. Dans ce dossier, vous trouverez un fichier HTML par nom bookmarks.html. Take a copy of this file and paste it in the desired location. Prenez une copie de ce fichier et collez-le dans l'emplacement désiré. Thats it, next time if you install Firefox, import this file using the steps mentioned above. Thats il, la prochaine fois si vous installez Firefox, importer ce fichier à l'aide des étapes mentionnées ci-dessus.
Update: The folder ati9z0wb.default may be different for different profile as pointed out by Benedict. Mise à jour: Le dossier ati9z0wb.default mai être différent pour les différents profil comme l'a souligné Benoît.

If you want to back-up History and cache, you can use the backup tool- Si vous souhaitez sauvegarder l'histoire et la mémoire cache, vous pouvez utiliser l'outil de sauvegarde - MozBackup . This can back up bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, cache etc in Mozilla and its a freeware. Cela peut sauvegarder des signets, du courrier, contacts, histoire, extensions, cache etc dans Mozilla et de ses un freeware.

Fourth method can be Foxmarks addon.. Quatrième méthode peut être Foxmarks addon .. For syncing bookmarks online.. Pour synchroniser les signets en ligne .. I feel it’s better than google browser sync if you want to sync only bookmarks.. Je pense qu'il est mieux que Google Browser Sync si vous voulez synchroniser les signets seulement ..

You won’t really see folder “ati9z0wb.default” it is randomly generated name and varies based on the user profile. Vous ne serez pas vraiment voir dossier "ati9z0wb.default" il est généré de manière aléatoire nom et varie selon le profil utilisateur.

I’ma big fan of the bookmarks toolbar up top and I always get annoyed when it gets cleared occasionally. Je suis un grand fan de la barre d'outils des signets de haut et j'ai toujours ennuyé quand il est autorisé de temps en temps. I’m lazy, I like to just click an icon. Je suis paresseux, je vous suffit de cliquer sur une icône. Any way to know why that happens? Aucune façon de savoir pourquoi ce qui se passe?

I only realized the importance of backup a few months ago. Je ne compris l'importance de la sauvegarde il ya quelques mois. After that I regularly backup bookmarks and also upload them to del.icio.us to ensure that they are never lost. Method-2; is not usable in Firefox 3, as bookmarks.html is not updated… AFAIK Mode-2, n'est pas utilisable dans Firefox 3, comme bookmarks.html n'est pas mis à jour ... AFAIK
