Email subscriptions are important because not all readers will be using a feed reader. In my initial days of blogging I never used a reader. I used to subscribe to the blogs using Email subscription service. Moreover some people like to get updates in their mail box rather than opening the feed reader daily. I have a few blogs which I have subscribed through Email.
Email subscription tool also allows you to customize the news letter based on your theme. I don’t personally prefer to subscribe to email since i don’t want my inbox to be floated with emails. But as said by you this is a good option for reader who don’t use Feed readers and read too many blogs
BTW, I initially used FeedBurner for email delivery and later I switched to FeebBlitz since they had more customization options compared with FeedBurner

I use Feedburner right now for subscriptions. I like my feeds delivered to my inbox.

I get annoyed of some blogs when they don’t offer email subscriptions.

I am still exploring Zookoda.
No doubt email subscription is quite important. Everyone should offer email subscription link to their readers in their blog.

kuanhoong- Zookoda is pretty good. But I use Feedburner.

Grace:
Zookoda can make a mailing list and create a follow-up messages while feedburner only provide you email subscribtion and statistic. I think both excel in their own category. If you prefer for blogging without selling affiliate products, Feedburner will 100% suit you.

@Ken Xu,
I too feel Zookoda has lot of options. You are right, it depends on your needs. I use feedburner.

I personally don’t use these kind of services as they tend to flood my email inbox. Nevertheless, it’s a great tool for the junta who are feeds-rss-subscription challenged.
I use FeedBlitz for my blog. My Feedburner RSS readership count is around 335+ and my email readers are 243 Active Readers!

Recently only I included subscription by email after I heard the outrage with google reader. Email subscription option is much better if you post one or two posts per day .. but if the frequency is more, its better not to use as the email subscription will flood the inbox of the reader. But anyway , its the choice of reader and with what he is comfortable is ..
Thanks nirmal for making me aware of other services, I was just hooked with Feedburner , I think I need to explore

Good Post Nirmal. FeedBlitz and FeedBurner remain the best though.

Good post nirmal, i use feedburner and heard about feedblitz but never heard about others.

Advice taken. I have now added the option to subscribe through email in my blog.
I have never been fond of email updates though. I find using Opera’s built in feed reader to be most convinient.

I use feedburner in my blog. But I have seen many pro bloggers use Zookoda too. Feedburner indeed is doing a great job.
Jun 29th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Good list. Never knew that FeedBlitz supports messenger delivery.

I really have yet to get a lot of subscribers via e-mail, but I know it’s always an option you have to leave out there, because many have yet to delve into the world of RSS reader.

I prefer to use a feed reader because even i dont like my mail box to get flooded.. It’s better to keep things separate.. But it seems that many ppl like email subscriptions.. SO i think I should have it on my blog too..
