Something all of a sudden stopped working on your phone?

I went to my local Optus Shop (Sony Ericsson distributor for Australia - Adelaide Rundle Mall branch) to query my "on but blank screen" and the women told me "its not broken, Optus have done a remote locking of various stuff and I have to buy a $50 cable and $40 softeware download to unlock my screen". She then said thats more then the value of the phone and I can either buy the parts or she could show me some replacement phones I might be interested in buying.

Its not illegal and I have nothing against Sony Ericsson, infact it has nothing to do with them but some carriers might be pushing the limits to crank up cashflow.

Dear Sirs,

I installed FMA and MyPhoneExplore programes on the notebook. Both programes can't detect my SE 610I mobile. But, my notebook can detect bluetooth of my mobile without problem. Why both programe can't detect the mobile? Please advice. Thanks.

Hi Nirmal,
Excellent softwar (MPE), its very very easy to use. I had lost 300 odd contacts from my phone but luckily i imported the contacts csv file that i had taken backup a year ago that saved my time. I would suggest all my friends to use this easy software ;)

HEre are the results of my comparison fo the two software to download SMS messages to my PC, tested on a Sony Ericsson w810i.

www.onenew.org, one planet one chance

Sony Ericsson w810i

1) Float Mobile Agent (FMA)
export formats
CSV MIDDLY recognized directly by excell, uses "", as delimiters
XML
HTML

Takes all the received message, phone memory PLUS SIM memery together
Fields: Doesn't take the names as set in the mobile phone to establish exported file. (when exported message, doesn't map the names to the phone numbers exported with every message).

Pros: Restablish a database on the computer and works whithin ITS OWN configuration, for messages at least.
Elaborated and many functionnalities.
Direct answering to SMS messages.
Handles all messages, complete in that sense.

Cons:
Merge SMS message, on phone memory and SIM memory
Export of SMS message don't recongnize expedient's name as set ont the mobile phone
Doesn't retrieve draft messages
Doesn't handle parts of multi-SMS message very well.

2) MyPhoneExplorer
export formats
SMS	native format, hexadecimal
CSV	good formatted better recognized directly by excell, uses ""; as delimiters
XML
HMTL	well formatted
TXT	text

Fields: It does take the names as set in the mobile phone to establish exported file. (when exported message, it maps the names to the phone numbers exported with every message).

Pros: VERY HANDY, outputs data as we want them directly, human readable
really simple interface like the handy phone itsefl
Does retrieve draft messages
Really works like the phone itself, with same menu and configurations
Retrieve the expedient's name as set in the mobile phone when exporting messages.

Cons: simple and seems more limited than FMA
In the saved items, mixes message SENT from me as well as message RECEIVED by me. But this as set on the mobile phone.
It seems there lack some original messages in the exported messages (found 1 over about 40 during a test).

Conclusion RJ
I choose FMA software as it is more complete and raw treatment of data. I use XML and CSV as standard formats.
