Wordpress team has released the latest version of Wordpress, 2.2 named as “Getz”. There are lot of features available in this new version.
- Wordpress Widgets: Originally the widgets was available as a plugin, but now included by default in the core code, which has been significantly cleaned up, and enabled for the default themes.
- Full Atom support.
- A new blogger importer, which supports the latest version of Google’s Blogger.
- Commenting unit improved and modified.
- Protection for blog which activating plugins.
- Future WYSIWYG support for the Safari browser
There are lot of other UI related changes in this version. You can download the latest version from here.

Yep! Widgets: Really good news! And the New Blogger importer is surely gonna make things easier for people migrating from Blogger to WP.

You are right, the new importer is something very useful. I too had this problem while importing posts from my old blog when I shifted to new domain.

There are some bugs there in the new version so be carefull if you are upgrading you Wp ,or wait till the bugs get fixed then upgrade..

I have not upgraded yet, will wait for some more reports on the new version.
You might already be aware that they release 2.2.1, because they had some security issues ?
You might want to check them and upgrade to 2.2.1

Yea I know that 2.2.1 is released. But I have not upgraded it.
