AnswerTips-Definitions and Facts at Your Fingertips

Advertisements

AnswerTips are small bubbles of information triggered by double-clicking any word on an AnswerTips-enabled page. An AnswerTips-enabled page allows your visitors to access definitions and fast facts on millions of words, personalities or slang.

To enable Answertips on your blog or website, register here. A cool plugin is available for Wordpress blogs. Activate the plugin and whenever you double click a word in the web page, a popup window will open giving the definition of the word clicked.

AnswerTips

You can also use AnswerTips even if the website is not enabled for AnswerTips. There is an add-on available for Firefox. Once you activate it, you can get information or meaning of a word on a web-page. You can download the add-on from here.

  • Maybe it`s just for me, but when there`s that kind of bubble popping out of a link, i guess that i firstly feel it`s just another ad link. If I`m not wrong, then that kind of word-linking and bubbeling is built in into some blog hosts.

  • Tim,
    Its actually not a pop-up like the ads which annoys most of us. It has a much better interface than a pop-up. If you are integrating it into blog, then it would be a Javascript that would be inserted into the blog code. :smile:

  • Hey, that’s pretty cool how that works and the only time I can think that it would work is on a link or an adlink (like Kontera). I would have to pass on it though — I already have Javascript conflicts without adding another script.

  • First line would should have said would not. Sorry.

  • Well, actually i didn`t mean pop-up windows but those so called In-text-Ads (and yes, like Kontera), it means that random word is double-underlined to link something and theres a little preview or ad, see http://www.dailyblogtips.com/stay-away-from-in-text-advertising/

    Peace:)

  • @RT,
    I too had issues with the Javascript, my Ajax comment form stopped working when I installed this JS. :smile:

    @Tod,
    I have read daily blog tips article on that, but Kontera is widely used across many popular blogs. :smile:

    @Jag,
