Yahoo Launches Web Messenger
Web Messengers have been there for quite a while now with Meebo and E-Messenger being the prominent ones. Bigger players like Google integrated messenger with Gmail and also MSN has its own messenger. Now it was the turn of Yahoo to launch their own Web Messenger, which will allow users to chat using their browsers. Yahoo had already done a integration of chat into their Yahoo Beta Mail site.
This would be really helpful for people who cannot install Yahoo Messenger at office or at schools. The new Yahoo Web Messenger is supported by all browsers and requires Flash. It can also connect with friends on Windows Live Messenger.

Aah! Cool but to me, the preference is still on meebo. Using these company web messengers is no good for those guys who have heavy talks like me, I want something which can save those chat logs which these company web messengers don’t provide. MSN Web messenger provides this service but for only 1 week whereas meebo acc. saves all those logs for life!

Anyways, great post!

Meebo will have great competition now as most of the msger services have their own web messengers now.

I don’t see meebo having any problems with this. its nice that the providers are (finally) providing this, but where else are you going to get the convenience of all those services in one place?

I agree with you John. Meebo is ultimate and you can get all msgers at one go.

I think, it won’t compete with Meebo, as it is a multi-protocol web messenger. However, I bet a lot of Yahoo fans will love this.
Sooner or later, they’ll come up with Gadget like the one for Google Talk
