Firefox frustrating me!

I have been using Firefox for long time now and recently I updated to the latest version 2.0. After the update there seems to be a unique problem. Sometimes it happens that while surfing using Firefox, it stops connecting to internet and does not display any page. I tried refreshing the pages, but still it does not connect. The only solution is to close the Firefox session and then restart it again. First I had the impression that it may be because of the internet connection I’m using. But when the problem came up frequently, I tried connecting the same websites using Internet Explorer. IE was able to display the sites when Firefox failed to do so. This happens mostly when the number of tabs in a particular window increases.

I’m not sure if the update has caused any problem to the browser (initially I was using 1.5), but the problem came up after the update. Is is the problem of Firefox? Suggestions and solutions welcome.

To add to this problem, whenever I open a tab and enter an url, first it will show server not found error and when I refresh the page, it loads.

Latest update: Today I closed Firefox five times because of this issue.

I am faced with the same problem as Harish. 9/10 times i am not able to use the browser to open any website. It just fails to load the page. I am able to access the same wbsite via IE. I feel it’s a serious flaw with it. Let us know if u find out a solution to the same.

It seems to be more a browser problem than a problem with your connection or PC.

It is right that sometimes page doesn’t load at first in Firefox but it is displayed after refreshing it.

I am having the same issue as well. I have to hit CTRL-W to close the window and then re-open the browser after a certain period of inactivity because it just won’t connect anymore.

Then, after a reset, it works.
