Hoax mails, Chain mails, free cell phones, free iPods, Bill Gates sharing his fortune……
ADVERTISEMENTSThis msg has been circulating for quite some time now…it reads like this,
“Hi friends,
There is a link where u can get a free apple IPOD.
just go thr and try it out there.
it really works.
my 1 frnd has got it.! “
Free iPods? Are they crazy to distribute iPods for free? On thing I understand is nothing comes for free in life, there would be something (some hidden things) attached to these free offers always.
Another commonly fwded mail is
“Student X is suffering from some disaese very rarely found (3 in a billion). His condition is very pathetic and the treatment is very expensive, obviously his parents are not able to afford his reatment. Orkut has agreed to pay 1 paisa after each time this message is forward. So please pass to all ur friends. “
“Orkut has agreed to pay 1 paisa”, well when did Orkut announce this? I can’t find any press releases or any details about this anywhere. Also why would Orkut announce this, the only valid intention I can think of is to make more people use Orkut.
Another one had Bill Gates sharing his fortune…..the msg was like this,
“Dear Friends,
Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this you will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.
When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.
For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00, for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, you will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a cheque. “
Bill Gates sharing his fortune?? Has he gone mad to distribute money like this?
Another set of mails were about deleting Orkut and Yahoo account. “Please sent it to 100 friends to keep your account active”….
So what is the real intension of these mails? The company or the product gets benefited, surely word of mouth will spread their name to every corner of the world. Its high time we realize that we are fwding crap mails.
So next time when you get a similar mail, just search the truth about such mails before fwding to your friends and wasting time.
