Onam at home

Finally friday had arrived and it was time for me to get back home for Onam. The Onam celebration at mInfy got over in the evening and by 10:00 pm I was seated in seat no: 34 of 3AC of Maveli express bound for Trivandrum. As the train started its journey at 10:30 pm, I was very happy as it was my first Onam after I joined Infosys. The night journey was pretty much comfortable and by 8 am the train reached Ekm Jn.I reached home and Nimi had already reached the previous night. My friend Gireesh had come home on a month’s leave from London, so I phoned him up and within an hour he was there at my house. We had a pretty long chat. By 4:00 pm we headed for shopping, and I purchased dresses for all (Onam Kodi). Achan got a new shirt for me also.

Sunday went by quickly and I did some work with computer [Actually trying to solve some problems  ]

Monday early morning we were heading towards Manjeri, my home town. By 11:00 am we reached Manjeri. After Lunch we went to visit uncle and came back in the night.

The next day was “Thiruonam“, the main day of Onam festival. This time we had a good Onam celebration at Irumbuzhi (Manjeri). All my uncles came to celebrate Onam with GrandMother. After lunch, it was time for us to get back to Kochi. We started out return journey at 3:15 pm and reached Kochi by 7:30 pm.

I met Gireesh once again and he told me that he”ll drop me at railway station. After dinner we went to railway station and by 11:50 pm, I was once again seated in seat no:34 of 3AC of Maveli Express, only difference was the train was bound for Mangalore.

As the train started I left behind me some more good memories of another Onam which came and went by quickly….and I moved into the AC coach as someone was waiting for me inside.
