The PC penetration in India has accelerated exponentially and that the Rs 10000/- barrier has been breached. However, there remains a very important hurdle-Softwares. Why do all multinational companies in India charge extortionate prices? Especially when the duties on software products is zero percent? We can now purchase a new PC at just Rs 10000/-, but if we were to add the OS and office software, we would end up paying more for this software than the PC. This discrepancy is inexplicable.
